Hydro Energy

Hydroelectric energy is energy derived from the movement of water. Water has mass. It falls and flows downward due to gravity. When it moves, it has kinetic energy which can be harnessed. The most common methods of using energy from water are run of the river or a hydroelectric dam, where water coming down through an area causes turbines to rotate and the energy is captured to run a generator.

Power can also be generated from the energy of tidal forces or wave power, which uses the energy created by waves. Traditionally, people around the world use hydro energy for peak demand.

Financing of Hydroelectric projects is a complex process wherein the local governments like the municipalities, state governments and central governments fund these projects as these projects have a very long gestation period. The government also targets multilateral and bilateral agencies like World Bank, ECA for funding these projects. Eastern Powers is geared up to handle financing of hydroelectric projects, both run of the river and hydroelectric dam projects. For more information, reach out to us on admin@easternpowers.com
